Men's Soccer is Shutout by Raiders on the Road

NASHUA, N.H. - The Elms College Men's Soccer traveled to Rivier University for a conference matchup on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first half would start with a shot from senior forward Leonardo De Moura (Rio De Janeiro, Brazil) in the first 49 seconds of play. Rivier would quickly respond by taking 11 shots, including a goal in the 14th minute of play. During those 11 shots, sophomore goalkeeper Jack Bousquet (Clinton, Conn.) would record five saves. Elms would see another shot from first year defender Samuel Webster (Malaga, Spain), but the Raiders would hold onto their 1-0 lead going into the halftime break.

As the second half of play began, Rivier would continue to control the narrative of the conference matchup, scoring a second goal in the 56th minute of play. Bousquett would record two more saves in the half, along with a shot from senior Jacobo Molina Ferrer (Valencia, Spain) and a pair by first year Derek Lonczak (Chicopee, Mass.). Unfortunately, the Raiders would defeat the Blazers 2-0 in their final road contest of the 2025 season.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Lonczak would take two shots during the game.

  • Bousquet would make seven saves of the nine shots he faced.

  • De Moura, Molina Ferrer, and Webster would also take shots during the game.

 

UP NEXT: The Elms Men's Soccer team will host Saint Joseph's College of Maine for a conference game on Wednesday, October 29th at 7 pm at Leary Field to conclude the 2025 season.
