Three Blazers Earn GNAC Weekly Awards

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) announced their weekly award selections for the week ending on September 14th Monday evening.

Three Blazers would earn conference weekly awards this week for the accomplishments on the field and court.

Senior forward Jacobo Molina Ferrer (Valencia, Spain) would be named the GNAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the second time this season after recording five goals, two assists, and 12 points, with 16 shots and a game winning goal, including a hat trick against Lesley University, last week for the Blazers against the Lynx and Lasell University.

Senior outside hitter Alysha Izquierdo (Holyoke, Mass.) would be named the GNAC Women's Volleyball Player of the Week after making 43 kills, three assists, six service aces, 44 digs, and a block assist last week for Elms in their matches against Lelsey, Mass. Maritime, Gordon, and Fitchburg State.

Senior setter Jaylen Holman (Las Cruces, N.M.) would be named the GNAC Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week after recording eight kills, 87 assists, 11 service aces, 43 digs, and three block assists last week for the Blazers against the Lynx, Buccaneers, Fighting Scots, and Falcons. Holman would also reach the career milestone of 2,000 career assists during their match against Mass. Maritime.

Graduate student libero Alyssa Moore (Ludlow, Mass.) and junior forward Dru Fairthorne (Ludlow, Mass.) would both been named to this week's Honor Roll.
