Pearce Finished First in 50- yard Butterfly in Tri Meet
WESTON, MA - The Elms College Blazers competed in a tri-meet against Western New England University and Regis College.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Blazers made their first splash in the 200-yard freestyle where first year Joni McGillis (Katy, TX) earned first place by over ten seconds. Senior Captain Ashley Cronkhite (Lewiston, ME) and Junior Manuerida Severino (Chicopee, MA) placed second and fifth in the 50-yard backstroke.
McGillis placed second in the 100-yard butterfly. Shortly after Cronkhite and Severino achieved fifth and seventh place in the 50-yard freestyle. First year Miguel Pearce (New Haven, CT) earned third place in the Men's 50-yard freestyle while going a personal best time.
McGillis, Cronkhite and Severino competed in the 100-yard backstroke where they placed fourth, fifth and eighth. Cronkhite posted a personal best in the 100-yard backstroke.
Pearce lowered his own personal best in the 50-yard butterfly achieving first place.
The Blazers ended the tri-meet with a fourth place finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay.

-Elms College will be competing at the GNAC Championships on 2/3-2/5 at the Boston Sports Institute. The Blazers will be making a splash at 10:00 AM.
