Blazers Dive Into Their Season Opener

West Hartford, CT - The Elms College Blazers competed in the Blue Jay Pentathlon hosted by University of Saint Joseph, last week on Friday, October 21st.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
Elms College had a promising showing at the Blue Jay Pentathlon. The Blazers started off strong in the 50 yard backstroke where Senior Captain Ashley Cronkhite (Lewiston, MA) placed third overall. Cronkhite was .65 seconds off of her lifetime best and .15 away from the NEISDA B-Cut. She also placed in the top 6 in the 50 yard breaststroke and freestyle. Other swimmers gained valuable experience at their first college meet.
 
 
FROM THE DESK OF COACH WALKER:
"We are moving in the right direction and it is a solid starting point for the season. Our new swimmers learned a lot from this meet which is important for the growth of our program. Everyday we are making steps in the right direction and laying down a solid foundation for our team. GO BLAZERS!"
 
UP NEXT:
 
-The Blazers are on the road Friday, 10/28 traveling to Gordon College. They will be competing against Gordon College as well as Regis College with a 6 PM start time.
