Men’s Soccer Loses to Westfield State in Home Opener
CHICOPEE, Mass. - The Elms College Men's Soccer team hosted Westfield State University in a non-conference game Wednesday afternoon at Leary Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The first half would see the two opponents trade possession and saw three shots from junior forward Jacobo Molina Ferrer (Valencia, Spain) and seven shots by Westfield State that would not find the back of the net. Shortly before the halftime break, senior Brandyn Costa (Palmer, Mass.) would score in the 42nd minute to give the Blazers the lead.
The second half would see the Owls take the offensive scoring twice in the first ten minutes to take the lead. Elms would try to tie the game with shot attempts by junior midfielder Pajorn Drysdale (Nantucket, Mass.) and sophomore midfielder Jelani John (Castries, Saint Lucia), but Westfield State would add two more goals to their lead to defeat the Blazers 4-1.

Senior Aidan Berube (Chicopee, Mass.) recorded eight saves in the contest.
UP NEXT: The Elms Men's Soccer team will host SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday, September 7th at 12 PM at Leary Field.
