During the early portion of the set, senior Jaylen Holman (Las Cruces, N.M.) would reach the career milestone of 1,000 digs. Holman currently sits at third place in program history in career digs. As the set continued, the two opposing sides would continue to battle for the lead, with the Blazers earning points with the assistance of kills from Q.Gibbs, senior Alejandra Marin (Dorado, Puerto Rico), Marks, and senior Alysha Izquierdo (Holyoke, Mass.). Unfortunately, late in the set, Colby-Sawyer would rally seven-straight points that would help them win the opening set 25-19.

The Blazers would then follow up with a kill by Marks and back-to-back service aces from Q.Gibbs. The Chargers offense would then tie the set 8-8 and would control the set offensively momentarily when junior Lilliana Simmons (Springfield, Mass.) would add her first kill of the match. The two sides would then battle for the lead, as Elms would score on six-straight points of their own, with the assistance of four kills by Q.Gibbs, an Izquierdo kill, and a block from Q.Gibbs and Marks. The Blazers would create a rally to take the lead momentarily, with the help of kills by Holman and Simmons, along with a block from Holman and sophomore Olivia Rivera (Springfield, Mass.). Simmons would record a kill, but CSC would rally late and would win the set 25-23 and take a two-set lead.

The third set would once again see the two conference foes battle for the lead early, with Elms capitalizing on kills from Q.Gibbs, Simmons, Holman, and Izquierdo, along with a pair of service aces by Izquierdo and a block from Rivera and Holman. Throughout the set, Colby-Sawyer and the Blazers would battle for the lead, but with the assistance of five kills by Izquierdo, Q.Gibbs, and Marks would help Elms win the set 25-22 to bring the match to two sets to one.
