Women's Basketball Tied For Fourth in 2011-12 NECC Preseason Poll

ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The Elms College women's basketball team was chosen to finish in a three-way tie for fourth place in the 2011-12 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Preseason Poll as voted on by member head coaches.

Regis College, who is playing as a member of the NECC for the first season, was chosen by the conference coaches as the favorite for the upcoming women's basketball season. The Pride, earned 93 points and seven first place votes.

Daniel Webster College was tabbed to finish second with 88 votes (two first place votes), while Becker College was selected third with 63 votes.

Elms, Lesley University and Newbury College each finished with 61 votes with the Lynx earning a single first place vote.

The Blazers are returning 12 players from its 2010-11 squad and have its sights set on making a fourth-consecutive trip to the NECC postseason tournament.
