The conference matchup would start with Albertus Magnus scoring back-to-back three-point shots, but Elms would answer back when junior guard DJ Watkins (Union, N.J.) made a jump shot, followed by a three-pointer by junior guard Andrew Ciaglo (Hadley, Mass.), assisted by Watkins. Shortly thereafter, Watkins would make a layup after receiving a pass from sophomore guard Jack Lo (Harahan, La.). But Albertus Magnus would continue to hold off the efforts from Elms and go into the halftime break with a 65-39 lead.
