PRIOR TO THE GAME
The Elms College Women's Lacrosse team hosted their annual Senior Night, where they honored their two seniors; midfielder/attack Greta Frankwicz (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) and attack Kelly Murray (Belchertown, Mass.), along with their loved ones.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Elms would start their regular season finale on the right foot, after junior midfielder/attack Jackie Cronin (Smithtown, N.Y.) would score the opening goal on a free position shot. Rivier would tie the game quickly, but the Blazers offense would take the game back, after Cronin scored her second goal, and first year midfielder Ali Sullivan (Chicopee, Mass.) would connect a pass to Frankwicz for a goal to bring the score to 3-1. The Raiders would score twice more in the first quarter, but so did Elms, with the help of an up-goal by first attack Lily Sheridan (Ashby, Mass.), assisted by Cronin, and sophomore defender/midfielder Rachel Dort (Chicopee, Mass.). In the second quarter, Rivier would take control of the contest, scoring seven goals before the end of the half. Though the Blazers would see a goal from Frankwicz, after finding a pass from Cronin, the Raiders would go into the halftime break with a 10-6 lead.
Rivier would come out the break with their foot on the gas pedal, scoring an additional seven goals in the third quarter. Elms would not be shut out completely, as Cronin would drive her way to the net for her third goal of the game. In the fourth quarter, Cronin would score once again, but the Raiders would score one last time to secure the conference victory over the Blazers 18-8.
