LEICESTER, Mass. – Becker College fell to Elms College 3-2 in New England Collegiate Conference men's soccer action Wednesday afternoon at rain soaked Alumni Field.

The win lifts the Blazers record to 7-10-0 (5-2-0 NECC), while the Hawks finish the season with a record of 1-17-0 (1-7 NECC).

Elms got on the board 13:19 into the game when Donald Whittle (Somers, Conn.) dribbled though the Hawks defense, scoring into the top left corner of the net. Whittle gave the Blazers a 2-0 lead just 2:16 later when he scored with his left foot into the bottom right corner of the net.

Elms tallied an own goal with 5:16 remaining in the first half.  Connor O'Grady (Somers, Conn.) laced a shot that ricocheted off the post, then off the hands of Becker goalie Benjamin Cadman (Harvard, Mass.).

Becker avoided the shutout with 14:42 remaining in regulation when William Tripp (Aberdeen, Md.) fed Cody Lavallee (Burrillville, R.I.) on a corner for his first goal of the season. Nathan Cornejo (Douglas, Mass.) brought the Hawks within striking distance when broke free down the far side for his second maker of the season.

Cadman suffered the loss after making 12 saves. Elms goalies Christian Kostka (Oxford, Conn.) and Anthony Polumbo (Bedford, N.Y.) split the game in net, turning away a combined six shots.

Elms will wrap up the regular season on Saturday, October 31 when they host Regis College at 4:30 p.m.
