Zaino Named NECC Rookie of the Week

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Elms College freshman forward Bobby Zaino (Avon, Conn.) was awarded as the New England Collegiate Conference Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday morning.

Zaino was an offensive juggernaut for the Blazers, netting all three of Elms' goals in a pair of victories. Bobby's first tally came in the form of the game-winner against Westfield State. In the Blazers NECC opener against Regis, Zaino registered a pair of goals on headers to deliver a 2-1 victory for Elms. On the season, Zaino is the Blazers leading scorer with five goals in nine games.

Elms (3-4-2, 1-0 NECC) will be back on the pitch when they host Worcester State in a non-conference tilt at Leary Field Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m.
