Jenn Rego

Elms College junior women's volleyball player Jenn Rego (Fall River, Mass.) was chosen as this week's female student athlete spotlight.

Rego, a legal studies major at Elms, completed her third season as a member of the women's volleyball program in the fall of 2010.

During the 2010 season, Rego served up a team-best 42 aces, placed third on the team in kills with 129 and was second on the squad in digs with 209 (2.82 per set). 20 of Rego's service aces came during New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) competition. Rego is currently in the fifth slot on the Blazers’ all-time digs list with 483. For her efforts, Rego was named Second Team All-NECC.

Briefly describe your favorite sports moment (playing or as a fan):

My favorite sports moment was winning a match against Mitchell College on a setter dump.

Who has been your biggest influence in sports and why:

My biggest influence has been my father because he was the person who gave me the drive and determination to always compete at my best.

Why did you choose to attend Elms College:

I chose Elms College because of the size of the school and the legal studies program.

Where is your favorite place to travel and why:

My favorite place to travel to is New York because my sister lives there and there is never a dull moment in the city.

Where is the one place you would like to travel to in the future and why:

I'd like to travel to California so I can surf. Also the weather is warm and the style of the clothes is different.

What is your favorite sports book or movie:

My favorite sports movie is A League of Their Own. The plot is similar to me and my sister.
