Blazers make waves at USJ

West Hartford, CT - The Elms College Blazers competed in a quad meet hosted by University of Saint Joseph.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
The Blazers started off strong in the 50 yard backstroke where First Year Joni McGillis (Katy, TX) placed second and Senior Captain Ashley Cronkhite (Lewiston, MA) tied for 4th. Cronkhite turned around minutes after the 50 yard backstroke and snagged second place in the 50 yard freestyle. After the diving break McGillis captured first place in the 100 yard freestyle while making an A-cut for the NEISDA Championships. McGillis also earned first place in the 50 yard butterfly, and placed second in the 100 yard individual medley.
 
 
FROM THE DESK OF COACH WALKER:
"Solid performance at USJ. We had good competition that kept us on our toes. We still have a lot of work to do this season, but we are making progress towards our goals. The meet next Friday at UMASS Dartmouth will be a great test to see how we swim after a hard week of training. GO BLAZERS!"
 
UP NEXT:
 
-The Blazers are on the road Friday, 11/11 traveling to UMASS Dartmouth. They will be competing against UMASS Dartmouth as well as Western New England University with a 3 PM start time.
