Gabrielle Calvanese, a three-sport athlete at Elms College, is currently in her second season as a member of the women's swim team, she will enter her second season as a member of the women's lacrosse program in the Spring of 2012 and completed her second season as a member of the Blazers' cross country team in the Fall of 2011. In Elms' most recent swim contest, a dual-meet against Western New England University, Calvanese competed in the 100-meter butterfly (1:38.52), the 200-meter breaststroke (3:38.15) and the 200-meter individual medley clocking a time of 3:23.14. On the cross country trails earlier this Fall, Calvanese clocked a personal-best time of 26:00 at the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship in Nashua, N.H. as Elms' sixth-best runner. Last season on the lacrosse field, she saw action in 14 games and scooped three groundballs.

Why did you choose Elms College?

I chose Elms because I like the environment and the staff is very helpful.

I think sportsmanship means the most because teamwork is everything.
