Theresa Pitassi

Theresa Pitassi - Elms College senior women's swimmer Theresa Pitassi (Naugatuck, Conn.) was selected as this month's female student athlete spotlight.

Pitassi is a pre-med student majoring in biology and minoring in psychology.

"I chose Elms College because of its small, close-knit community and campus. Coach Tyler is very friendly and approachable and the swim team is like a second family for a lot of us. The small population allows the students to have a better personal connection with the teachers that helps us to excel in our academics."

In 2009-10, Pitassi was a member of the Blazers' 400-yard freestyle relay team that captured a new Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) record and played a role on three of the squad's four record-setting relays at the season-ending New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) championships.
