Leah Spring

Elms College sophomore women's soccer and softball player Leah Spring (South Hadley, Mass.) was chosen as this week's female student athlete spotlight.

Spring, a nursing major at Elms, completed her first season as a member of the women's soccer program in the fall of 2010, and is currently in her second year with Elms' softball team.

In the fall of 2010, Spring was a stellar defender for the Blazers, helping the team notch a 6-2 record in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action in addition to adding a goal in an 8-1 win over Bay Path College. On the softball field, Spring has connected for five hits so far this season, scored seven runs, earned three walks and is 2 for 2 in stolen base attempts.
