Annette Dzidek
Elms College junior women's volleyball and women's lacrosse player Annette Dzidek (Chicopee, Mass.) was chosen as this week's student athlete spotlight.
Dzidek is a communication science and disorders major at Elms and is currently in her first season as a member of the women's lacrosse program and completed her third season as a member of the women's volleyball team in the fall of 2010.
On the volleyball court in 2010, Dzidek competed in 18 matches and downed a total of 19 kills, recorded 21 digs, dished out eight assists and served up an ace. In her first season playing women's lacrosse, Dzidek has found a home as a goalkeeper. Through the first two games of the 2011 campaign, she has recorded 23 saves, scooped two groundballs and caused an opponent turnover.
Briefly describe your favorite sports moment (playing or as a fan):
My favorite sports moment was starting as a middle hitter during my freshman year and getting my first solo block.
Why did you choose to attend Elms College:
Where is your favorite place to travel and why:
I like to travel to Poland because I have family there, and Greece to see the Olympic stadiums.
Where is the one place you would like to travel to in the future and why:
I'd like to travel to Australia because it's awesome.
