Brooke Miller

Elms College junior women's basketball player Brooke Miller (West Warwick, R.I.) was selected as this week's female student athlete spotlight.

Miller is in her third season as a member of the women's basketball program and is a biology major at Elms.

In 27 games played off the bench during the 2009-10 season, Miller scored 21 points, grabbed 26 rebounds and dished out 13 assists helping the Blazers reach the semifinals of the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship tournament after upsetting the top seed in the quarterfinal round.

Briefly describe your favorite sports moment (playing or as a fan):

My favorite sports moment was hitting the tying free throw in a game.

Who has been your biggest influence outside of sports and why:

My memere because she taught me everything I know.

Why did you choose to attend Elms College:

I chose Elms College because I wanted a small school where I could play basketball.

Where is your favorite place to travel and why:

I like traveling to Disney World because of the excitement.

Where is the one place you would like to travel to in the future and why:

I would like to visit Greece for the history.

What is your favorite sports book or movie:

My favorite movie is Remember The Titans because of its message of acceptance.
