Student Athlete Spotlight
Jen Normandie - Elms College freshman women's basketball
player Jen Normandie (Westford, Mass.) was
selected as this week's female student athlete spotlight.
A social work major, Normandie's favorite sports memory was beating Daniel Webster College in the semifinals of the 2009-10 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship tournament.
Normandie's favorite sport outside of basketball is football, and her favorite team is the New England Patriots.
"I want to become a coach one day so my sports role model is Red Auerbach. He was a great coach that brought the Boston Celtics to a completely different level."
In her first collegiate season, Normandie netted 238 points (second best on the team) and hauled in 143 rebounds in 26 games played for the Blazers. She registered 43 steals during the season to tie for second on the team in the category, and shot 35.4-percent from the field, helping Elms secure a berth in the NECC tournament finals.
