Benjamin Kronlund
Benjamin Kronlund - Elms College junior men's cross
country runner Benjamin Kronlund (Longmeadow,
Mass.) was selected as this week's male student athlete
spotlight.
Kronlund is an elementary education and mathamatics major at Elms and is currently in his third season as a member of the Blazers' cross country program.
So far this season, Kronlund has competed in four races, registering a season-low time of 37:13 in the men's 8-kilometer race at the Western New England College (WNEC) Invitational. Kronlund ran a 24:16 in the season-opening 5-kilometer race at Smith College, followed that with a 41:34 at the Blazers Invitational and then clocked a 38:28 at the James Earley Invite hosted by Westfield State University, improving his time in each race. Last season, Kronlund was Elms' top male finisher at the season-ending Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship after crossing the line in a time of 37:00.
Briefly describe your favorite sports moment (playing or as a fan):
My favorite sports moments are going to University of Massachusetts hockey games. There is great team spirit!
Who has been your biggest influence outside of sports and why:
No individual person. Music has been an influence because it has taken me to some interesting places.
Why did you choose to attend Elms College:
Where is your favorite place to travel and why:
My favorite place to travel to is Shapleigh, Maine because my family owns a lake house up there where family reunions are hosted.
Where is the one place you would like to travel to in the future and why:
What is your favorite sports book or movie:
My favorite movie is Remember The Titans. The movie
had a good feel to it.
