Daniel Lebron
Elms College freshman men's volleyball player Daniel Lebron (San Juan, Puerto Rico) was chosen as this week's male student athlete spotlight.
A criminal justice major at Elms, Lebron is in his first season as a member of the Blazers' men's volleyball program.
Through the first 20 matches of the 2011 season, Lebron has guided the Blazers to an impressive 6-1 mark in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) play. Lebron has totaled team highs in assists (386), digs (146) and service aces (30). Lebron amassed a single-match personal best 55 assists in a tough 3-2 loss to non-conference foe Emerson College. On the season, Lebron has also earned two NECC Rookie of the Week awards.
Briefly describe your favorite sports moment (playing or as a fan):
My favorite sports moment was competing at Junior Nationals because my team won and I was named an all-star.
Who has been your biggest influence in sports and why:
Angel Perez is a setter for the Puerto Rico national team and is the best.
Why did you choose to attend Elms College:
Where is your favorite place to travel and why:
My favorite place to travel to is California because I like the Junior Olympic volleyball over there.
Where is the one place you would like to travel to in the future and why:
I'd like to travel to Japan because it is always interesting to learn about a different culture.
