Mike Kleckner
Elms College junior men's volleyball player Mike Kleckner
(Bethlehem, Pa.) was chosen as this week's male student
athlete spotlight.
A sociology major at Elms, Kleckner is in his third season as a member of the Blazers' men's volleyball program.
During the 2010 season, Kleckner tied for the team lead in service aces with 33 and tied for Elms' single-match service ace records for both a four-set match (8) and a five-set match (6). In his two-year career with the Blazers, Kleckner has downed 227 kills (1.73 per set), notched 152 digs, totaled 33 blocks (8 solo, 25 assisted) and collected 35 aces.
Briefly describe your favorite sports moment (playing or as a fan):
My favorite sports moment was playing in the North East Collegiate Volleyball Association (NECVA) tournament against Ramapo College as a freshman.
Who has been your biggest influence outside of sports and why:
My brother Afa because he has always been behind me and supported me no matter what sport or activity I did and he still does this for me to this day.
Why did you choose to attend Elms College:
Where is your favorite place to travel and why:
My favorite place to travel to is San Antonio, Texas because it was a great experience for me when I first traveled there and I got to see my brother play in the United States Army All-America Bowl.
Where is the one place you would like to travel to in the future and why:
What is your favorite sports book or movie:
My favorite movie is Remember The Titans. After
watching this movie you just want to watch it again and again - it
is that good.
