Men's Swimming Rolls By Regis, 134-60

MEN'S SWIMMING ROLLS BY REGIS, 134-60

WESTON, MA, Jan. 31, 2009 - Elms College freshmen Nick Provost (Three Rivers, MA), Garrett Brune (Lakeville, MA) and Adam Tonnesen (Norwich, CT) all won three events to help pace the men's swim team  to an easy 134-60 win at Regis College on Saturday afternoon.

The Blazers (5-3) posted victories in 13 of 16 total events, including both relays, and also set four new school records.

Provost was a two-event winner in both the 200-yard freestyle (2:00.06) and 500-yard freestyle (5:37.11), Brune was victorious with a school-record tying mark in the 50-yard breaststroke (31.30) and was also a winner in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:09.80).

Tonnesen set a new school-mark en route to victory in the 100-yard backstroke (1:00.98) and also placed first in the 50-yard freestyle (24.52).

Tonnesen and Brune also teamed with sophomore Nick Whitman (Florence, MA) and freshman Zach LeBarron (Bennington, VT) to post a new school-record in the 200-yard medley relay (1:49.98).

Freshman Albert Reome (Chicopee, MA) posted a school-record in winning the one-meter diving (237.10).

Elms College concludes the dual-meet portion of its 2008-09 schedule at Trinity on Wednesday, February 4. Meet time is 7:00 p.m.
