Isaiah Odunlami
Elms College freshman men's basketball player Isaiah Odunlami (Providence, R.I.) was selected as this week's male student athlete spotlight.
Odunlami, a healthcare management major at Elms, completed his first season as a member of the men's basketball program.
In his debut season, Odunlami played in 21 games off the bench for Elms and scored 27 points and hauled in 17 rebounds, helping the Blazers win their seventh straight conference championship and earn a spot in the NCAA Division III Championship for the sixth time in seven years.
Briefly describe your favorite sports moment (playing or as a fan):
My favorite sports moment was watching Michael Jordan cross up Brian Russell and hit the jump shot putting the crowd in awe.
Who has been your biggest influence in sports and why:
My biggest influence has been Henry David Thoreau. His novel Walden has inspired me to do incredible things in my life.
Why did you choose to attend Elms College:
Where is your favorite place to travel and why:
My favorite place to travel to is Prospect Park near Brown. I walk there to clear my mind and take in the view.
Where is the one place you would like to travel to in the future and why:
I'd like to travel to my country Nigeria and visit family, friends and have a good time.
