Andrew Sullivan - Elms College senior golfer
Andrew Sullivan (West Springfield, Mass.) was
chosen as this week's male student athlete spotlight.
Sullivan, an accounting major at Elms College, is in his fourth season as a member of the men's golf program.
Sullivan is a two-year captain of the men's golf squad (2009-10, 2010-11) and has been one of the Blazers' top golfers since his arrival. During the 2010 fall season, Sullivan has helped Elms to a pair of Blazers Invitational victories as well as the program's first-ever win at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championships. Sullivan carded rounds of 80 and 82 at Elms' home invitationals respectively, and finished with a combined score of 157 that included a a second round score of 77 at the two-day ECAC event. His low round of the season thus far was a 75 in opening round action at the two-day Skidmore Fall Invite.
Briefly describe your favorite sports moment (playing or as a fan):
My favorite sports moment was watching Tiger Woods make a putt to force a playoff in the US Open.
Who has been your biggest influence outside of sports and why:
My grandfather because he taught me how to play golf and always gives me inspirational talks.
Why did you choose to attend Elms College:
Where is your favorite place to travel and why:
My favorite place to travel is Florida for the great weather and great golf courses.
Where is the one place you would like to travel to
in the future and why:
I would like to travel to Hawaii because it looks cool.
What is your favorite sports book or movie:
11 Seconds. It is a very inspirational story.
