Jaclyn Mederios

Jaclyn Mederios - Elms College sophomore field hockey player Jaclyn Mederios (Brant Rock, Mass.) was chosen as this week's female student athlete spotlight.

Mederios is a paralegal major that is entering her second season as a member of the field hockey team. In the spring, Mederios also plays women's lacrosse. 

During the 2009 field hockey season, Mederios played 11 games as a forward and helped pace the Blazers' offense. During the 2010 women's lacrosse campaign, she registered an assist, scooped nine groundballs, earned three draw controls and caused a pair of turnovers.

Briefly describe your favorite sports moment (playing or as a fan):

My favorite moment playing a sport was the first time I ever played in a field hockey game.

Who has been your biggest influence outside of sports and why:

My sister. She has always been there for me and is a very strong person.

Why did you choose to attend Elms College:

Elms has my major I like the small size of the school.

Where is your favorite place to travel and why:
I like to go to California because it is fun and there are many things to do and things to see.

Where is the one place you would like to travel to in the future and why:

I want to visit Italy. It looks beautiful and I would love to see the place where my grandma grew up.
