Derek Leal is entering his second season as a member of the Blazers' baseball team. As a freshman in 2011, Leal appeared in eight games (started three) and totaled a 1-1 record on the mound in 23.1 innings of work. Leal also saw action in the outfield and was 10 for 46 (.217 batting average) at the dish with three doubles and nine runs batted in. He also scored eight runs and recorded five walks in his debut season. 

Why did you choose Elms College?

I chose Elms College for the small, comfortable campus, the baseball team and the opportunity for a great education.
