Twenty-Three Student Athletes Named Fall Academic All-NECC

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Elms College placed 23 student athletes on the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) all-academic list as announced by the organization on Wednesday.

A total of 172 student athletes from NECC member institutions received this accolade for the 2011 fall semester. NECC member institutions include Bay Path College (Longmeadow, Mass.), Becker College (Leicester, Mass.), Daniel Webster College (Nashua, N.H.), Elms College (Chicopee, Mass.), Lesley University (Cambridge, Mass.), Mitchell College (New London, Conn.) Newbury College (Brookline, Mass.), Regis College (Weston, Mass.), Southern Vermont College (Bennington, Vt.) and Wheelock College (Boston, Mass.). Babson College (Babson, Park, Mass.) and Springfield College (Springfield, Mass.) are associate members in the sport of Golf.

To be eligible for the NECC Academic All-Conference, a student-athlete must post a minimum grade point average of 3.40 on a scale of 4.00 and must be a sophomore or higher in class standings. Student athletes who competed in men’s and women’s cross country, field hockey, golf, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s tennis and women’s volleyball were eligible for this recognition.
