Blazers Athletics Raises
Money To Help Promote Breast Cancer Awareness
CHICOPEE, Mass. – The Elms College athletics
department raised $563 dollars through its four spring season
“pink-out” events. All money raised was sent directly
to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Fans who attended each sporting event during the "pink-out" were
asked to wear pink and donate a minimum of $1 to help promote
breast cancer awareness.
The women’s lacrosse team conducted their “pink-out” day on April 17 during their home contest against Bridgewater State College, while softball and baseball hosted their “pink-out” events on April 24 against Wheelock College and Newbury College respectively. Men’s golf also hosted its six-team spring invitational on April 30 as a “pink-out” event.
In a joint effort to support the cause, both the Elms and Newbury baseball teams donated their allotted meal money for the weekend.
